Periodic and Fixed-Term Tenancies

The law has created two kinds of tenancies, fixed term and periodic. It is important to know which kind of tenancy you have because the rules relating to the two kinds of tenancies are different, particularly the rules in relation to ending a tenancy or increasing rent.
