Renting a Room  (where you live and share the living quarters with the owner of the house)

A rental in this situation is NOT covered by the Residential Tenancies Act. This means that any agreement you came to with the landlord would be the terms under which you would live in the house. Another way of looking at this, is that neither the landlord nor the tenant are protected by what is set out in the Act.

It is therefore important that you think about the issues that need to be agreed to and included in the lease agreement. By reviewing the information set out on this site, you may be in a better position to enter into the agreement.
